UPAY NGO has developed itself as a self-sustainable model in the long journey of 10 years. The story of the Bangalore chapter of UPAY NGO started when one of the volunteers from the UPAY Gurugram zone, Harsha Rani, moved to Bangalore. The dedication she invested in opening the zone, led to the beginning of the Bangalore chapter of UPAY NGO.

It was in March 2018 when Harsha along with her fellow friend, Supriya went on to identify various areas in Bangalore to open the center. They did not get much success as the biggest challenge which they faced was the language barrier. Their inability to communicate in the local language hindered the process.

After a lot of brainstorming, it was decided that the slum areas in Banglore need to be identified. After a brief meeting, Harsha, Supriya, Rashmi, Aman, and Anushree took the lead. Later that week, Harsha and Rashmi were able to get some success in this direction.
